3rd Mainland Bridge

On July 25th I visited the Nike Art Gallery (it’s an awesome place; please find time to visit). It took our Uber more than 2 hours to get there because the 3rd Mainland Bridge was closed the night before and we had to take alternative routes, which weren’t in the best of shapes.

As we navigated to the gallery that day, I thought to myself, “If the traffic situation is this bad today, how would Monday be like?”. I knew it was going to be hellish for commuters and that was exactly what happened. Even robbers were having a field day, according to some reports. See some receipts below:

If you commute to Lagos Island daily via the bridge or know someone who does, you probably are feeling the brunt of the bridge’s partial closure. Are you going to continue plying this route for the next 6 months? What plans have you put in place to safeguard your health, business, etc during this period? Here’s what you can do:

  • Work from home for the entire 6 months, if you can. As you may have now realized though, staying productive while working from home can be a challenge, that’s why Leadspace shared this useful article: How to be productive while working from home
  • If working from home isn’t an option, you should work from Hub One, a coworking space & innovation hub owned by First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and managed by Leadspace. Situated in Yaba, Lagos, Hub One offers professional office space, unlimited internet, constant power supply, a community of like minds and the opportunity to grow your business through partnerships, collaborations and possible investments. Because Hub One is strategically located on Lagos mainland, it will help you save hours you would have spent in traffic going to Lagos Island!
  • Sign up for a Virtual Office plan at Hub One. With this option, your commute is greatly reduced as you only visit the space — which essentially becomes your office — when you have important meetings or documents to pick up.

Whatever option you choose, Leadspace will help you stay healthy, productive and grow your business during this period.
